Getting into the hall, and using this site

The building

  • A level, on-site car park with disabled parking provision, immediately outside the door.
  • Step-free entry by ramp, suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
  • A large entrance with double doors.
  • The main hall is all on one level, with a smooth floor throughout.
  • Modern toilets including a disabled toilet.
  • Baby changing facilities.
  • Heating that brings the hall up to temperature quickly.

If you have a specific requirement — turning space for a wheelchair at a table layout, a quieter arrival, help getting equipment in — mention it in your enquiry and the trustees will do what they can. Send a booking enquiry, or email stocksmoorvillagehall@gmail.com.

This website

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. In practice that means:

  • Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
  • Text and interface colours meet or exceed the AA contrast ratios, and nothing relies on colour alone.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200% and the layout reflows down to a 320-pixel-wide screen without horizontal scrolling.
  • Headings, landmarks, lists and tables use real semantic markup, so screen readers can navigate the page structure.
  • Every form control has a permanently visible label, and required fields are marked in text as well as in the markup.
  • Animation is limited to small hover effects, and is switched off entirely if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The site needs almost no JavaScript — only the mobile menu uses any, and the full navigation is repeated in the footer if it does not run.

Where we know it falls short

Some of the photographs of the hall currently carry general descriptions rather than detailed ones. We are working through them.

Tell us if something does not work

If you hit a barrier on this site, or in the hall, please email stocksmoorvillagehall@gmail.com. We would much rather hear about it and fix it.
